- What
will you do with the money you make?
- Great question! We will use the money
to help pay for the server, hosting, affiliate
commissions, new features, gaining traffic, etc.
- Why 500 words? Why not
200 or 1000?
- Why not 20 words? 500 seemed like the
perfect number. It's enough words to have a wide
selection to choose from, without being overwhelmed. If
there were more words, it would be more difficult for
people to find your keyword, and would result in less
traffic to your site. 500 words keeps the page nice and
neat, ensuring the most number of visitors possible for your site.
- Where do the
words come from?
- The words are popular search terms
and common English words that we cultivated from a wide
variety of resources and databases. We feel the words
that have been chosen cover a wide range of topics and
keywords our visitors may be looking for. If we missed
one you want, feel free to suggest one.
- How much traffic will
my word get?
- This depends on a number of factors,
and is near impossible to predict exact numbers. It
largely depends on the word(s) you purchase, the word
style you choose, the site you link to, and the
description title you use. However, we are doing our
part to bring as much traffic as possible to the 500
Word Page through joint venture partnerships, blogs,
articles, pay-per-click advertising, in-house mailing
lists and more.
- Why did my
word's position change?
- As we add and remove unsold words,
your word's position may change slightly. Sometimes,
just to shake things up and give everyone a fair chance
at being at the top of the list, we may randomize the
word list. But if you purchased a premium word style,
you shouldn't worry about your word changing positions,
because it will still stand out.
- How much does it
cost to buy a word?
- Currently you receive over an 80%
discount on all word styles as part of our launch
special. To see a word's price and the style choices,
click on an unsold word. You will be taken to an order
page with the different options and prices.
- How do I buy a
word?
- On the
main page,
click on an unsold word. You will know it hasn't been
sold because it will look like this:

Also, if you hover over an unsold word, you'll see a
message that says "Buy this word". When you click the
word, you will be taken to the order page with the
different word styles and prices. Follow the onscreen
instructions to checkout.
- Can I suggest a
word?
- Sure! All suggested words are subject
to approval, however, and we will not approve any words
that violate the terms. As long as your word is not a
major brand name, obscene, pornographic, hateful,
racist, or already sold, there shouldn't be any
problems. To suggest a word, use our
contact form. We will respond
within 48-72 hours.
- What do I get when I buy
a word?
- You get the right to link your word
to a site of your choosing, as long as it doesn't
violate the terms found on the order page. You're
basically renting the right to display that word with
your link on the site for a specific length of time. By
purchasing a word, you do not receive stock options,
health benefits, paid vacations, 401K, an invested
interest in the site, etc. You're renting a word. A word
that can bring you lots of traffic.
- How long will my
word link to my site?
- For as long as the site stays active
and online (a minimum of 3 years). Although we do
our part to prevent system downtime, sometimes things
happen (such as power failure, bandwidth overload,
virus, corrupt hard drive, etc.) that are out of our
control. We will not be held responsible for such
downtime, and we will do what we can to keep such
occurrences from happening. Refunds will not be issued
as a result of the system being down. We will however
extend your word for the length of time the site was
down.
- Can I change the
site my word links to?
- Yes! We understand that sites come
and go, and the last thing you want is a link bringing
tons of traffic to a site that no longer exists. So we
will let you change the link and description title
depending on the style you purchase. Please refer to the
following table for the number of changes you can make:

- What links
are acceptable?
- Almost any link that relates to your
word choice, except those that are
pornographic, hateful, racist, promote intolerance, or
are obscene. Example, you could not buy the word DVD and
link it to a site about baseball. DVD reviews, DVD's for
purchase etc are allowed. We reserve the right to disapprove a link
for any reason. If we do, you will be given the option
to choose a different link, or we will refund your
purchase.
- Can I upgrade the word
style?
- Of course! And you can get it at up
to a
50% discount. We will soon have a member's section
where you can upgrade and make changes automatically.
But for now, please use the
contact form. Refer to the following table for
upgrade discounts:

- Can I get a refund?
- All sales are final, and no refunds
will be given. We will, at our discretion, offer a
refund if we do not approve your link and you do not
have an alternate link to use. We do offer a 48-hour
grace period after purchasing a word. If within
48-hours of your order you realize you chose the
incorrect word, we will give you a one time courtesy
word change. Also, if within 24-hours of your
purchase you change your mind, you can cancel your
order and we will refund you promptly. Please use

change requests or to cancel your order.
- Can I change my
word after the 48-hour grace period?
- Yes. If after the 48-hour grace
period you decide you want to choose a different word,
we will remove your link from your original word and you
can purchase a different word (with the same or
lesser style) for 50% off. However, you
will not receive a refund. To change your word, please
use our contact form.
- Do you have an
affiliate program?
- It's in the works. It should be
launched by the end of July.
